Sandra Chin

Oil industry expertise

Sandra Chin has worked in the oil industry in Australia and Singapore since 1995. She has held senior commercial roles at BHP Petroleum, Shell Australia and BP Australia. Sandra has become a subject matter expert in both crude oil and petroleum products.

Sandra spent 9 years at BHP Petroleum in a number of commercial roles: in crude oil operations and logistics, in price risk analysis, and ultimately, as a Crude Oil Trader in Singapore. Sandra left BHP in 2003, and moved from working in crude oil to petroleum products. She was Strategic Pricing Manager for Shell Australia (responsible for commercial strategic accounts negotiations on mogas and diesel in Australia) and Spot Products Trader for BP Australia, before co-founding Derisc in 2008.

David Cowper

Resources industry expertise

David Cowper has worked in the resources industry in Australia since 1975. He has held various operational and technical roles in South Australia and in Victoria. David has a deep understanding of the mining value chain and an extensive network of contacts in the industry.

David spent over 25 years at BHP in a number of operational and technical roles. Since 2001, David’s focus has been on business development in the resources sector, and it is this that led to his co-founding of Derisc in 2008.
